Several of my students have asked about playing Christmas music this year. Since we can’t be together and play at a nursing home together, I thought we could make a video to share with them. You could also share with friends or relatives you have that might be missing holiday concerts this year. There are several facets to this project. I’d love you to participate as much as you are able!
DIRECTIONS FOR RECORDING
Carol of the Bells
Below you will find recording instructions, sheet music and an mp3 backing track for Carol of the Bells. Pick the part (or parts) you’d like to play. You can play as many parts as you’d like, please try to play more than one part so we can cover the parts! Feel free to share with a friend or sibling that might like to play as well.
Individual Carols
I’d love for you to record your own videos of you playing carols. I have attached some music options for you. There are 3 parts to each of these. You should play all three parts. Use the app “Accapella” or something similar to record yourself playing all three parts of any song. Send me your final product to include. Let me know if you have any questions about this. I’d love to be able to put something together for us all to share.
Mary Did You Know
This is just cellos. I’ll say this is a little ambitious. Lets see if we can do it though! If not this year, then we can try next year. This an arrangement of the Piano Guys as well as the Penatonix version of Mary Did You Know. I kinda meshed and weaved them together. Again, feel free to share with cello friends that might be interested in participating.
Submit your video to me here. Please make your file name your name and what piece it is (“meaghan-carolofthebells.mov)
